Caluwaert graduated from John Marshall Law School with honors, he became
Administrative Assistant to the Governor of the State of Illinois. There he also
served as legal counsel for the State Department of General Services. In 1972,
John entered the private practice of law and is currently the owner of the
Elmhurst based firm of John Caluwaert law office.
John was engaged by Callaghan/Lawyers' Cooperative Publishing Company to author
a multi-volume legal treatise covering specialty areas including volumes on
Wills and Trusts, Business Organizations, Residential Real Estate, Matrimonial
Practice and Personal Injury.
John served as a Member on the Board of Directors of Elmhurst Federal Savings
Bank which was subsequently converted to a publicly held stock corporation after
which the Bank was then acquired by St. Paul Bancorp.
John also served as a Member of the Board of Governors of Elmhurst Memorial
Hospital. He also enjoyed distinction as an appointee by the Governor as Special
Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois.
John has a diversified entertainment background, having been selected by the
United States Government to entertain armed force with a USO group throughout
Europe and the Artic Countries. In addition to this music background, John is
also a Magical Entertainer, performing on a regular basis for a Hilton Hotel and
other professional bookings.
